Lecture Lecture/Practicals 2016-2021 4-8 academic hours
Organized by: MISB program, University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg
Date/Time: on 2024-10-29, 9:00 - 12:30
This is a part of the Transcriptomics course (Prof. Stephanie Kreis) for MISB-students. The course includes both lecture and hands-on practical workshop. The main goal of the course is to familiarize students with the data types in transcriptomics, show them the methods for QC, data exploratory analysis, and related statistical approaches.
Introduction to R Exploratory analysis Differential expression Predictive models 20-40 academic hours
Organized by: Luxembourg Institute of Health, Luxembourg
Date/Time: on Mondays between 2024-10-07 and 2024-10-28, 9:30-17:00 (Edison, Ada Lovelace)
This four-module course provides a kick-start for those, who are interested in using R-language for the exploration and analysis of experimental data. We shall start with basic R programming, see how to load and transform data in R. Next we focus on exploratory analysis of high-throughput biological data. Statistical methods used for the analysis of such data are considered in the module “Differential expression”. In the final module “Predictive Models”, we consider the basics of machine learning approach. Each module is composed of 4h mandatory hours (lectures/practical), followed by 3-6h of optional independent work. Please choose the module button on the top.
Course materials 20 academic hours
Organized by: Luxembourg Institute of Health, Luxembourg
Date/Time: 2024-02-05, 02-19, 03-04, 04-08, 13:00 - 17:00
This training session provides a kick-start for those PhD students, who are interested in understanding and analyzing their experimental. We shall start refreshing basic concepts of Statistics and then go deeper into practical data analysis with R programming language. This is a short, more focused, and in some aspects, more advanced version of the Biostatistics course for BSc. The last lecture includes advanced topics: multiple linear regression, logistic, Cox regression, dimensionality reduction and basic statistics for transcriptomics.
Course materials 60 academic hours
Organized by: BSc program, University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg
Date/Time: from 2021-02-15 to 2021-05-31, Fridays, 8:00 - 12:00
The purpose of this course is to give the students an overview of statistical methods and to provide a foundation for data analysis in bio-medical research. Special attention is given to practical application of statistical methods to bio-medical data. The course includes 30 hrs of lectures and 30 hrs of directed practice exercises (travail dirige, TD).
